| Ensuring a Great Holiday on a Thomas Cook
Escorted Tour |
|
Here are a few suggestions to ensure that you get the best out of your Escorted
Tour with Thomas Cook.
Baggage
-
Travel as light as possible as there is no porterage included on our tour and
heavy luggage would cause you great inconvenience.
-
It is advisable to carry a maximum of 20 Kg with 1 piece of cabin baggage (not
more than 5 kgs) per person. Do take extra care of your belongings on tour.
Clothing
-
Warm clothing like sweaters & jackets are essential. Avoid carrying heavy
woollens. You must carry a cap, a folding umbrella, comfortable walking shoes
(canvas or track shoes).
-
For the Lido show, formal wear is recommended.
Punctuality
-
Our tours have been specially designed to ensure the maximum coverage you
get and to achieve this, your punctuality is essential.
-
Sightseeing excursions have been pre booked for a specific duration and thus,
if the group is delayed, you would be deprived of sightseeing time.
Your Coach
-
We have carefully chosen an air-conditioned video coach for your comfort since
most of your traveling in Europe would be by coach.
-
Do not eat foodstuff in the coach.
-
Smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages is not permitted on the coach.
Hotels
-
Your hotels have been specifically chosen keeping in mind the location and
space availability. Utmost care is taken to ensure accommodation of good
quality.
-
Most hotel rooms are not air conditioned. Facilities like mini bar, pay
television channels, telephones etc. are not complimentary and have to be paid
for based on actual usage.
-
Hotels sometimes offer the facilities of complimentary safe deposit lockers,
which may be availed of.
-
Please ensure that there are no damages to your hotel room during your
stay since the same would be charged to you directly by the hotel.
-
While checking into the hotel, wait in the lobby or coach as advised by the
tour manager. Crowding near him would only delay the check in process.
Meals
-
Continental Breakfast as per the itinerary is included. Most meals are served
in the finest Restaurants.
-
There is a choice of Vegetarian/ Jain meals. The menus however are fixed in
advance and a la carte is not possible.
-
Lunches are basic but unlimited except wherever packed lunches are provided.
Currency Exchange
< ul class = "pagetext" >
Avoid changing money at the hotels since they offer a very poor Rate of
exchange.
Change only as much money as you feel you would require in a country. Every
time you change your currency you pay an exchange service charge which is as
high as 7- 10%
Use all loose coins and smaller denomination notes in the same country, as
these cannot be exchanged for another currency.
If you are carrying Travelers' Cheques please keep the purchase receipt in a
safe place away from the original Travelers' Cheques.
Tour Manager
-
We request you to kindly co-operate with the tour managers and abide by
instructions for a memorable tour.
Tipping
-
Tipping in Europe is expected by anyone providing you a service e.g. Coach
drivers, Tour Managers, guides, etc. Since your coach driver spends a large
part of the day driving you safely, loads and unloads your baggage onto the
coach, it is customary to tip him a nominal amount of USD 2 per person per day
in cash for the duration of the tour. Please do note that the coach driver,
especially in Europe, plays a very important role in making your tour a happy
one.
Essential Items to be carried on Tour
-
Please carry sunglasses, alarm clock, an additional pair of spectacles,
umbrella, camera rolls and medicines with prescriptions if required.
-
Please carry a photocopy of your passport & valid visas and keep it
separate from the original.
