Set between the mountains and the sea, which still play an integral part of city life, Barcelona is the proud, ancient capital of Catalonia, and has today become Spain’s most energetic, extrovert and stylish city. Full of history, and now boldly modern, the city sparkles both by day and by night and is famous for its bars, museums and enthusiasm for life.

This is the city which never sleeps, since the Catalans are trendy, gregarious and fun loving, and they enjoy going out at all hours. The city’s motto is “Barcelona Es Teva” translating into “Barcelona belongs to you” and it has been steeped in 2,000 years of history.

Venture along the Passeig de Gracia, which is the city’s busiest street, and be tempted by the tapas bars, where you can sample small portions of typical dishes. Stroll along La Rambla, a bustling street alive both day and night. Visit the Eixample, the area of Barcelona which was transformed at the beginning of the 20th century. This is where many great landmarks may be found.
